How to change Xerox Versalink C405DN cartridges?
To change the toner cartridges on your Xerox Versalink C405DN printer, first make sure your printer is switched off. Now you can open the front cover and locate the toner cartridges inside the printer. Once you have located the cartridges you can pull them out.
To add the new toner cartridges, simply hold the C405DN cartridge in your hand with the arrow facing up. Then push the toner into the printer slowly until it stops. Double-check that the toner cartridge has been inserted correctly by gently pushing on it. Now close the front cover and you’re ready to start printing.
How to increase toner density of Xerox C405DN Toner?
Your Xerox printer should have a front panel which lets you control the density levels of your C405DN toner cartridges. On the front panel select the menu option. Then keep scrolling through the options until you see the ‘Calibrate Colors’ option. Press the menu button to select this option.
Now scroll through each colour to adjust the density levels. Once you are done, tap the menu button again. The display should say ‘ Reference Page’. Select the ‘Print’ option to print out this reference page. This reference page will show you the current density levels for each of the coloured toner cartridges.
The default density level for each colour is ‘0’, you can adjust the density levels on a scale of -10 to +10. -10 being very light and +10 being very dense. Using this reference page as a guide you can adjust the toner density levels to your desired choice.
Why is my Xerox printer not recognising the C405DN toner?
There are a number of reasons for why your Xerox printer may not recognise your Xerox Versalink C405DN toner, such as:
- Not using genuine Xerox branded C405DN toner cartridges.
- Not inserting the toner cartridge correctly (see instructions above).
- Using the wrong model of toner cartridges for your printer.
Firstly you should check if you have pushed the new toner cartridge all the way into the printer. You can do this by gently pressing on the cartridge itself. If you still get the error message, please remove the toner cartridge carefully and shake it until you can feel the powder moving inside.
